SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT/TECHNICAL SKILLS

The first language I learned was C in a Unix environment, then C++.  I also learned several scripting languages such as Korn shell and bourne shell. I also did a lot of programming in MS Dos basic back then. When Microsoft first came out with Visual basic 1.0 in May of 1991, I began windows programming with VB and Visual C++ and the MFC libraries.  Since then, I have continued following Microsoft technologies and have done projects in multiple versions of VB and Visual C++.   During these years I developed numerous applications and have worked with a variety of databases, MS Access, Informix, (Sql Server since ver 4.5) and Oracle since ver 7.0

 I began using the .NET platform when it was still in beta (before it was available to the general public) and have followed it through to the current Visual Studio 2008/.NET 3.5.  I have been involved in an assortment of upgrade projects as well as projects that required cross-plaform engineering. I am equally proficient with VB.net and C# so I don't really care which language a project is written in.  I have a lot of experience with desktop applications and internet applications.  I am currently studying/learning the Silverlight platform with Expression Web Studio.
